A Great Day

What a busy, productive, fun day! We went to Target first- Cindy got a new bike! (I can't wait to start riding with the kids.) We went to the library and checked out a bazillion good books. Then came home and had our friends over- Austin and Campbell. We did a Scavenger Hunt with pop rings as the treasure. We painted Easter eggs on coffee tissue paper (an idea I got from Pinterest.) And we bounced on the trampoline a lot!!!
When Jer came home, I went to Zumba. When I came home, the girls were still bouncing on the trampoline! I had a glass of wine and enjoyed the evening.! I love Spring Break!

Galveston for Spring Break

We decided to take a beach vacation this Spring Break- Galveston and New Orleans. We took off after the kids got out of school on Friday and drove in the direction of Galveston. Our first pee stop was an hour outside of Frisco at a Sonic. The next day we went to the Moody Gardens. It was four  giant pyramids that contained small museums. I liked the Aquarium one best, because it had some neat playful penguins in it. The others were okay- the 3D and 4D movie theater pyramid, the rain forest one, and the human body one- with real cadavers (yuck).
We saw a 3D version of the Wizard of Oz. It was pretty fun, up until they melted the witch and we got sprayed with cold water.
It rained most of the time we were in Galveston, so the kids invented their own ride and played it on the back patio of the condo- the "Merry-Go-Basket". You could really get some good spin on the upside down table if you put some arm muscle into it!
We did get about 2 hours of sunshine on the third day, so we ventured to the beach.
Afterward we went to the pool and washed the sand off.
playing shark!
We actually never made it to New Orleans. I got a stomach bug and we were tired of the rain, so we decided to come home early. I'm not a big fan of the Houston area- the beaches aren't as pretty as other places in Texas, but it was a good vacation for the kids, when the sun was out.

February misc. pics

Victoria led her school at the Friday Morning Live assembly in saying the Texas pledge. We practiced the week beforehand and she spoke loudly and confidently. She did awesome!
Bella and I did some shopping one day and rode one of the rides at Allentown Outlet.
Victoria did one more group cookie sale booth- this time at the Mooyan Burger. We didn't do quite as well this time- only sold 7 boxes in one hour, but had fun waving at the cars and singing songs. (Last time at Gattitown we sold 27 boxes!)

Jer's Ski Weekend

Jer took a guys ski trip with Dan to Lake Tahoe this past weekend. He said he had a great time- skiing and a little gambling. The temperature was wonderful- he said the first day he could have skied in short sleeves.
Victoria did her first Girl Scout Booth sale at Gattitown. They were so cute. They kept singing "Girl Scout Cookies For Sale" in good harmony. We sold a ton of boxes and I was quite impressed with Victoria's salesmanship skills. "How many boxes would you like?...That will be (looking at a prcing chart) $10.50 please....Would you like a bag for that? Have a good day!"
Braelyn spent the night on Saturday. The girls put makeup on each other, dressed up, played on the trampoline, and watched movies. A good girls night!
Bella had her first soccer game of the season. She did good! She chased the ball everywhere and helped to score a goal. I love the determination look on her face.

Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day I got the girls each a cute purse. Victoria had seen this purse at a store and wanted it. Inside it, I put a lotion and chap stick. I gave Bella a see through Hello Kitty purse/container with sparkle lipsticks and nail appliques. They were both really excited. My camera battery died before I could get a better picture.
After I took Victoria to school, I had some time to do Bella's hair and nails for Valentine's Day. I saw a neat hairstyle on Pinterest (a website that has a bunch of visual ideas/pictures- think giant bulletin board) that I wanted to try. Can you see how the two braids sweep back and form a heart? We painted her nails pink and drew white hearts on them. I even put a sparkly pink heart nail applique on her thumbs. She loved them. I really like having girls:)

I went to Victoria's Valentine party at her school. They passed out Valentines, had treats, made a bookmark, and played games. Her classmates really enjoyed her Valentines that she passed out and thought it was neat they had a picture of their friend Victoria.
Here are their Valentines (inspired by my new favorite addiction Pinterest and my friend Chris who did something similar.) They glued a personal note on the back of them.
I took pictures of the girls in their Valentine best for cards for the Grandparents.

My favorite Valentines that we received from the girls.

On Saturday, Jeremy took Victoria and Bella to the Daddy Daughter Dance. Beforehand, we played Salon Day- I did their hair and put some pink nail polish on them. To be honest, they were not in the best of moods. Lately, they haven't been getting all their good night time sleep, either from special times that we have kept them up or because they've been waking up around 3 with bad dreams or they just can't sleep... so cue the melt downs. And what doesn't go better with a good tantrum then pretty dresses on beautiful girls :) But don't worry V&B I didn't take any pictures of that. I did however get some good shots of them in front of the fireplace.
They took the chariot (aka van) to pick up Dan, Kate, and Abby. Braelyn and her little friend were just getting back from an earlier dance when Jer arrived.

Jer told me that they had a good time at the dance which was candy themed- think giant lollipops everywhere. He said that when they first got there Bella ran out to the dance floor and wouldn't stop dancing the whole night. Victoria got to see some of her friends there too- Marlee, Bentley, and Ava. Afterward they all went out to Macaroni Grill for dinner.
