Celebrating the Holidays- the Sadowski Side

We traveled to Albuquerque after Christmas to spend some time with my side of the family.

The girls enjoyed playing a type of badminton in the backyard, and later real badminton with Grandpa Joe.

My favorite part of the trip was meeting my new nephew. (Due to privacy I will not include his name.) Love him!
We went to an Indian reserve along the Rio Grand river.

We went to the coolest SciTech center with our cousins.
Peter figures out how an old fashion phone works.

We went skiing in Santa Fe one day; it was suppose to be two days, but the kids were not to happy with the 19 degree temperatures. It was the best and worst ski trip of my life- I finally figured out how to really ski with the help of short skis, but my kids had an awful time. Bella fell off the chair lift twice, me once- while trying to get Bella (we only fell a few feet, but it was scary), Victoria accidently dropped her one glove in the toilet, a Coke exploded on everyone while I was opening it, and did I mention it was 19 degrees out- COLD! Luckily the kids had a good time swimming in the hotel pool and hot tub. The next day we went to Santa Fe's historic district and walked around the square shopping, looking at art galleries, and visiting St. Francis Church.

Then we went back to Albuquerque to meet my brothers family for lunch. We went to his place and he serenaded us with some piano music while the kids sung and danced around.

We celebrated New Years with my favorite meal that my mom makes- sauerkraut and dumplings and set off some sparklers in the backyard.

Jer asked Bella to spell out RESPECT with the sparkler... she hadn't heard of the song before so he played it on his cell phone.

I love my Albuquerque family!

Christmas with the Lunns

We had a very low key Christmas this year. We celebrated with Dick and Carol, they came to our house to exchange gifts. I purchased the turkey meal from Market Street- it was very good. (Everyone loved the sides, but not the dressing. Most people thought the turkey was just okay- I really liked it though. I think next year I'll just order the sides and do the turkey myself.)
Bella played a joke on her grandparents by hiding under the presents before they came in.

Victoria was super excited to give her Dad a book about their latest obsession Minecraft.
Carol and Dick gave the girls Snowman poop. LOL

Victoria made Carol a photo book of her favorite pictures.

I think the girls got what they really wanted.
Bella gave Grandpa Dick a painting she painted.

The "grand feast" served on paper plates. My favorite part of Christmas was playing the game Loaded Questions with the entire family. We had a magical night!

Yes, Bella got a magic set for Christmas.

Christmas with Dave and Denise

We went to Kotta for sushi! Check out the blue flaming dish in the middle of the table- very interesting.
Then we went to their house to play Christmas Charades and open presents.

And cuddle with the dogs Sydney and Brigsby.

Christmas with Friends

We celebrated Christmas together with the Potts with our annual Christmas light trek.
Beforehand we had pizza and the kids played on neat scooters. They moved lightning fast!

Buckling up with hot cocoa in hand.

Someone couldn't make it to the last house- our favorite.
Braelyn came over the next day for breakfast and to play.
We played most of the break with our friends and even exchanged a couple of books with them.
