Friday

As I type this I can hear Victoria in her bedroom playing, instead of sleeping. I've already put her back in her bedroom for her nap 3 times. She is sneaky- the last time she was hiding behind the couch, as I checked my email and just happened to glance up. Today we walked to the park that is only 3 blocks from our house. We had to come home early though, because Victoria slid down a wet slide (it had rained last night) and refused to wear any pants or diaper from that momment on. Thank goodness we were the only ones at the park at that time, I can just hear other moms saying, "and there goes little naked girls' mom." Victoria and I also made a cool hat when Bella went down for her nap. We got the idea from her favorite cartoon, Curious George. Bella has had an awesome day today. She is on the verge of crawling amd likes to experiment on the ground. Yesterday while on all fours, she moved her two knees, and her butt fell under her- yes, now she can sit up. Within the last couple of days, she has also gotten her first tooth and can blow rasberries. It's my theory that getting teeth and accomplishing milestones go hand and hand- I ought to patten that.

Petting Zoo

We had a great time at the Owen's Farm with our friends Chris, Nikko, Marly, Patti, and Grayson! We saw horses, pot-belly pigs, turkeys, and roosters. We took a hay ride- Victoria hung onto me for dear life. We fed the Longhorns and the goats- Victoria once again was scared, but warmed up after 10 minutes. We ate P&J sandwiches and chocolate chip cookies at their picnic area. Afterward Victoria and Nikko played "Ring Around the Rosie" and ran everywhere. I highly recommend this place.

Cool Dudes and Hot Chics

My aunts Colleen and Peg came to visit me last week. We had so much fun! Half the time the we just lounged out on the back pato, since this Texas weather was spectacular (PA weather in single digits- perfect time to visit.) Victoria really had a blast- she played, and played, and played with them. They taught her some new words, like "cool dude", "hot chick", and my favorite "goof ball." We went to Reunion Area and WestEnd, ate way too much, and talked tons- what a great week! I so miss them- wish they were closer.

The Baptism

I. was baptised this weekend, and you won't believe what she did. What is up with the color white? As soon as I put her in her beautiful white baptismal gown with a slight hint of pink ribbon, all heck breaks loose. I notice at the Baptism that her outfit has caused a rash under her chin and along her neckline. Then, as the preist annoints her with oil, she spits up on herself and me. And lastly, my favorite, half way through the service, I. decides to have a very loud bowel movement. As luck would have it, it didn't go through onto her clothes, however, the lady in front of us kept giving us bad looks. Yeah, it really did stink. I love her so much though! We had a gathering after the service over at my house- Little Ceasars pizza and cake. We partied as I. slept- she and sis are just getting over a cold. Today was the first day that we were able to go outside in a long time- temps in the 60s. I'm loving it.

So what's in your hair?

I went to a mommy gathering today at another's house. As 10 moms look at me, I'm holding a screaming baby and trying to sooth her. V. comes and stands by my leg being shy in the beginning. Finally one of the other moms looks down at V. and asks- what's in her hair. I look down and she is coated in white slime. At first I had thought it was the dog that had gotten loose and maybe licked her. As I clean her up, I notice the smell, and put 2 and 2 together. Her sister puked on her head. What is wrong with my child? She pukes all the time. I've tried a ton of different medicines (natural, over the counter, and prescription), but nothing seems to work. I love I. but I can't wait for this phase to be over.

Pappap's Birthday

Last Friday was Pappap Joe's birthday (my Dad's birthday- man, is it wierd calling him grandpa.) He liked the coffee cup with V.'s artwork on it. We took him out to Pasada's to celebrate. He fed V. a her first taste of hot sauce on chips- she liked it- go figure! I. slept for most of the time, and when she did wake, it was poop patrol time. Speaking of poop, last week, as I was feeding I., V. came running out of the kitchen, NAKED and declared- "Poop in Potty!" I went to go take her to the toilet and of coarse- nothing. As I went to go get a cup of coffee, I discovered mounds of poop all over the kitchen floor. Oh, the joy of potty training.

Corpus

We traveled to Corpus last weekend-Awesome! While Dallas was 20 degrees, it was in the 70's and picture perfect. I had so much fun!!! We stayed at a hotel that overlooked the ocean- at night we'd put the kids to bed and sit on the balcony drinking beer and rejuvenating. V. enjoyed her first sight of the ocean- we've been reading tons of ocean books to her and when she saw it kept repeating- ocean, ocean, ocean! Daddy taught her how to play chase the wave, then run as fast as you can when it comes back. She loved it, until her little feet touched the cold water and it was time to dig in the sand. I. was still to little to notice that we'd left the confines of our house- as long as she got her milk she was happy. But a got pictures to prove that we really did go, and it's not some wonderful dream. Yes, even my kids were delightful angels on the plane. In short, we ate too much seafood, enjoyed the ocean to its fullest, and had our first successful family vacation.
