Veins

I took the girls to the park today. We were looking at leaves and I was explaining how leaves have veins and showing Victoria them. Then I said people also have veins inside their bodies and I showed her my blue lines in my arm. I tried to look for hers on her arm, but couldn't find any. She says, "Don't worry Mom. I"ll grow some."

Cinderella eat your heart out!

I got the coolest compliment the other day. My parents came over to watch the girls while Jer and I went out to dinner. After getting all dolled up, I picked up Victoria and asked her how does Mommy look? Her response- "You have pretty hair. You look like Cinderella." Ahhh. Victoria really is a girly girl. Yesterday she wanted to play beauty shop with me and Bella. She styled our hair and then used a little circular rattle with a smiley face to pretend to put makeup on our faces. I've never taught her that. Funny. I guess she's seen me.

Halloween

What a fun night! Victoria loved going trick or treating with Little Miss Muffet Kate. She went as a Butterfly Fairy Princess and Bella was the Dancing Frog from WB. Although Bella was not having a good time, and I had to take her back early- teething issues. I went to Victoria's school earlier in the day for her Halloween party. She ate a cookie and paraded around her building-talk about chaos- have you ever seen 8 classes of 2 year olds on the prowl. After I picked her up from school, we went home and watched the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. It's amazing how classic cartoons never die. Both of us were thoroughly entertained. During the trick or treating, Victoria played with her flashlight Grandma Carol gave her. Although, she pretended it was a light savor, after seeing a man with a Luke Skywalker costume. When Daddy and Victoria got home, they dumped their loot in the middle of the floor and dug in. Her favorite candy was the Gummy Fish. Thank goodness for toothbrushes. I love Halloween.

Picasso

So I thought... she's one now, surely she can paint with us without putting things in her mouth? Think again! Yesterday we painted with tempra paints. Victoria loved it. Bella had the problem- she wanted to eat and hold the paint bottles. Thank goddness they make nontoxic paints. Learned my lesson.

Just as soon as you think "easy sailing", there's a "bump in the road." I was finally bragging that Victoria was wearing nothing but panties for the last 2 weeks, then all of a sudden, at the doctor's office yesterday, yet another fun accident. I chalked it up as an accident, but as soon as we came home, she had 3 more accidents, and then one more this morning. What's up with this? Oh well. We'll keep trying. Everyone is finally well at my house, can't say the same for my folks or Grandma Carol. I'm hoping we didn't give our germs to them.

Bella celebrated her one year birthday this weekend. Since it was also cousin Tessa's 3 years, we mixed the parties at Quinn's house and had a Curious George style party. Bella seemed to have fun, although she was not really herself, as she was getting over a painful yeast infection caused by the antibiotics she's on to get rid of her ear infection. Tessa really seemed to have fun, especially with her new dinosaurs. I can't believe Bella is turning into a little girl. She's taking more steps at a time, saying more words- bear, bath, just started kissing- sweat, and has taken on her facial features that I'm sure she'll have when she's older. Oh, I'm missing my little baby. But I'm welcoming my beautiful little girl.

Mama's sick

Well, it's offical. Mama's sick too. Didn't run fast enough away. I spent the weekend in the sick ward. I went to the doctor this morning to find out if it was strep or contagious. It's a negative. Just a simple cold with yucky cough. Jer has it really bad right now. He was actually the one that made me go to the doc this morning. He was up all last night complaining about his hacking and thinking it was strep. I guess I'll just let it run it's coarse.
Victoria said the cutest thing yesterday. I told her I was going to make carrot and celery sticks for a snack. She says, "I have an idea." I asked, "What's your idea?" Although I was thinking- idea? you're only 2!- where do you come up with this stuff? Her reply, "I want a fruit roll up."

Preschool

Victoria started Preschool two weeks ago. She loves it! Walked right in and made herself at home! The teachers always giggle, because she runs in, throws her Pink Dog high up into the air out of excitement, and says "Hi!". She gets to go to art and music classes, sing songs, listen to stories, read books, go to the chapel, and make new friends. I have to say I was a little teary eyed when she ran into her classroom the first day and it felt like she was all grown up for a second- then Bella started to cry. It was really amazing that she even got in to this Preschool- she was #27 on the waiting list in May (didn't know you were suppose to register in Febuary.) My little grown up goes two days a week. I'm using that time for some good one on one with Bella. We go to the library time and sometimes the park. I've helped her walk with the walker. Since Victoria isn't grabbing for it, Bella seems to be doing quite well. The other day she took 5 steps all by herself. She can say a ton of words- ball, bye-bye, ought-oh, woof, roar, and book.

This past week has been a tough one. I couldn't tell if Bella was teething, sick, or going threw that developemental stage of clinginess, but she was driving me crazy. Everytime she saw me, she wanted to be picked up, then put down, then picked up, then put down. And Victoria had a cough and wasn't feeling 100 percent- wasn't sure if it was allergies or a cold. Then yesterday, Bella's eyes crusted up and she had problems sleeping last night. I took her to the doctor today- Ear infection. Did I mention that Jer got the cold last night? What's a mommy to do? Run, hide.
